Shooting Balloons Out Of The Sky

Shooting Balloons Out Of The Sky

In the sky, a balloon did float,
Whether Chinese spy or weather note,
The Americans took aim and shot it down,
Feeling proud and wearing a crown.

But what of those who wish they were there,
In the boat that took down the air,
Do they really understand the consequence,
Of taking out something without evidence?

For now the balloon lies on the ground,
Frozen or wet, it can no longer be found,
And the question remains, how woke is that,
To shoot down something without a fact?

So let us pause and consider our way,
And the impact of what we do each day,
For even the smallest action we take,
Can have consequences we cannot fake.
